We’ve recently discussed SustainIndy, Mayor Ballard’s insightful program to keep Indianapolis at the forefront of the “Urban Green Revolution.” A related program, RebuildIndy, is his $55 million initiative to repair Indy’s crumbling infrastructure. This boost to the city’s construction program will not only help improve numerous neighborhoods, it means work for local firms and jobs for residents.
As RebuildIndy (opens in new window) continues work in the downtown area, you might want to make plans to take alternate routes to avoid delays due to work in these areas:
- Lane restrictions will be in place on Delaware Street from Maryland to Washington streets.
- Georgia Street will close for reconstruction between Capitol Avenue and Illinois Street.
- Minor lane closures are to be expected from Illinois to Pennsylvania streets.
- Utility relocations are underway along Washington Street from West to Delaware streets.
You can follow construction updates on Twitter.
Positive programs like this one, that help keep metropolitan Indianapolis vital and looking to the future, is just one of the reasons Thiele Heating & Air Conditioning has been proud to call Central Indiana home for more than 125 years. Whether it’s new “green” building projects downtown, the new Performing Arts Center in Carmel, or the major new healthcare facility opening soon on the Eastside, the signs of growth are all around us. We can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
